Course Details
Professionals across the United States, from healthcare to legal to business sectors, are experiencing unprecedented levels of overwhelm and exhaustion resulting from unrelenting toxic stress, and compounding traumas. Exacerbated by social unrest and violence, economic instability, and the global pandemic, the cumulative exposure affects mental, emotional and physical health, productivity and both professional and personal joy.
Whether the result of large-scale events or chronic exposure to toxic stress, trauma is affecting well-being and negatively influencing interpersonal interactions, individual and team productivity, and morale (Bleakley & McSweeney, 2023; Smith & Jones, 2024). While the case for trauma-informed workplaces is well established (K. Manning, HBR 2022), the current reality urgently calls for something more: more meaningful, more relational, and more readily applied to challenging, daily interactions.
