Pastoral Master Class in Trauma-Mitigation & Resiliency
Grief has been my greatest, hardest teacher, the one who demanded expansion of my compassion, my empathy, and my drive to serve. Grief taught me the extraordinary power of sacred wounds; that acknowledging and honoring pain is what ultimately allows for the conversion of suffering into wisdom that is useful, both for me and others.
For leaders of spiritual communities, tending to personal, emotional, and spiritual resilience is an imperative, and has increased urgency in times such as these. Bearing witness to the pain and trauma of others takes its own toll. This Master Class is an opportunity to center in the Holy with others who are also engaged in this work, and expand capacity to shelter, support and nurture self and others.
Real-time trauma mitigation and resiliency building is the most effective way to retain calm and focus in times of crisis and to prevent the embodiment of toxic stress and vicarious trauma.
This three-day, experiential learning opportunity is a deep dive into trauma: what it is, how it develops, and the multivariate ways it “shows up.” Emphasis is placed on learning and practicing a full range of proven trauma- mitigation and resiliency building tools and techniques.

Trauma-Informed principles and the components of a trauma informed environment
